Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup is showing signs that he is starting to round into form after a long comeback from a torn ACL he suffered during the 2021 NFL season.
Gallup has been an integral member of the Cowboys' passing attack since the organization drafted him in 2018 and had 1,950 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns between 2019 and 2020. But his knee injury halfway through last year’s campaign ruined his chance for a 1,000-yard year and cost him the first month of this season.
Gallup has returned and has five games under his belt, so should you pick up Gallup if you are in the market for a wide receiver in Week 10? Here is my take:

Should I Pick Up Michael Gallup In Fantasy Football?
I would personally wait another week to see Gallup have a breakout game. He has been brought back slowly and has not cracked the 50-yard barrier in any of his outings so far, nor has he had a five-reception game yet. His 6-49-0 line against the Chicago Bears last weekend was an encouraging sign, but he has yet to show the explosiveness that he has had in the past.
Also part of the problem is Dallas is running the ball more these days since Tony Pollard is running like Tony Dorsett. The Cowboys have only attempted more than 30 passes in only one of the five games Gallup has suited up for. When Dak Prescott is heaving it up, most of the passes are going to CeeDee Lamb (nine targets per game) while Gallup is ranked fourth on the team target list with just over four per contest.
Another thing going against Gallup this week is Dallas is facing the Green Bay Packers, who are struggling in most football facets – except for pass defense. The Packers are ranked second in the NFL in pass defense, allowing a paltry 170 yards per game, so this is not a fantasy-friendly matchup for Gallup. And you know what else would not do Gallup any fantasy favors? If Jerry Jones brings in Odell Beckham Jr.
It is always smart to grab a player off the waiver wire on the verge of a breakout week when nobody is pining after him, rather than after the breakout week when the whole league has its eyes on him. In this case, however, the jury is out on how effective Gallup will be from here on out. Hopefully, he will become stronger and faster as the season progresses, but right now I would look at other WR options on your waiver wire before settling on Gallup.
