NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/9/22
It's just a four-game slate but there are some marquee teams on the board tonight: Pittsburgh vs. Washington and Carolina vs. Florida should be fun to follow. Canucks-Canadiens feature both teams playing the second game of a back-to-back. Minnesota is playing a back-to-back as well after having played the Kings last night and now the Ducks tonight.

As always, ensure the goalie in your lineup is confirmed before the lineup lock! With several teams on a back-to-back, it is a safe assumption to go with the goalie that did not start the previous night. Everyone else you have to double-check! There is nothing worse than having a great lineup but taking a zero at goalie. This has happened to me before and it stinks!
NHL DFS Goalies
Thatcher Demko DK $8.0K || FD $6.8K
Opponent - Montreal Canadiens
Goalie is tough tonight. Who do you trust out of Filip Gustavsson, Thatcher Demko, Tristian Jarry, Sergei Bobrovsky, Antti Raanta, Darcy Kuemper, Sam Montembeault, and John Gibson? It's going to be one of those slates where one has to nail the goalie but it's nearly impossible to do. Demko gets a Montreal team that just won the previous night in a shootout. The downside is Vancouver is also on a back-to-back as well and this could be a sloppy game. Vancouver is one of the strongest favorites on the slate, so why not, even though Demko has a .879 SV% and a 3.90 GAA with just one win.
One could make an argument for any goalie on the late tonight.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Bobrovsky (DK $7.8K || FD $8.4K), Montembeault (DK $7.4K || FD $7.8K - GPP only)
NHL DFS Centers
Bo Horvat -DK $7.3K || FD $10.0K
Opponent - Montreal Canadiens
Bo Horvat is playing some great hockey right now. He has 12 goals and four assists in 13 games played. He averages 3.6 shots on goal per game, and in his last 10 games, he has averaged two points per game. Montreal gives up shots too.
Evgeni Malkin -DK $6.7K || FD $8.0K
Opponent - Washington Capitals
Evgeni Malkin is scoring one point per game and averaging 3.5 shots on goal per game. Malkin doesn't have a ton of upside but on a small slate and in a game like this, he should have a decent floor.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Suzuki (DK $6.8K || FD $9.1K), Eriksson Ek (DK $6.2K || FD $7.5K)
NHL DFS Wings
Kirill Kaprizov- DK $8.7K || FD $9.8K
Opponent - Anaheim Ducks
If I am going to spend up at Wing tonight, Kaprizov is my first choice. He has 13 points in 11 games, averages 3.91 shots on goal per game, and Anaheim allows 40.4 shots on goal per game -- the most in the NHL.
Troy Terry- DK $6.2K || FD $8.7K
Opponent - Minnesota Wild
I probably do not play Terry and Kaprizov in the same lineup but I like Terry's value on DraftKings. He has 17 points in 13 games played and averages 3.2 shots on goal per game. Going against a team on a back-to-back is a good spot too.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Svechnikov (DK $7.1K || FD $9.0K), Caufield (DK $6.8K || FD $9.2K), Kuzmenko (DK $4.7K || FD $7.3K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Quinn Hughes- DK $6.2K || FD $7.1K
Opponent - Montreal Canadiens
Quinn Hughes is better to stack with a line as he gets a lot of assists, he has 11 on the year in nine games played with just 16 shots on goal.
Erik Gustafsson- DK $3.2K || FD $3.9K
Opponent - Pittsburgh Penguins
He is nearly min-priced and is on the top power play with John Carlson out.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Burns (DK $6.6K || FD $6.8K), Xhekaj (DK $2.8K || FD $3.7K)
NHL DFS Top Stacks
Here is a handful of stacks I like:
- MIN PP1: Anaheim averages the fifth most penalties per game and has the second-worst penalty kill in the league.
- MTL1: This has the makings of a sloppy game. Correlation with the power play and going against Demko most likely who is having an awful season. The Vancouver side is very viable as well, but I would not game stack.
- CAR2: I especially like this if Bobrovsky starts in the net.
- ANH 1: Only for large field GPPs. The rested home team playing a road team on a back-to-back. Line 1, Line 2, or the Power Play are all viable here.
