Mike Minor Lands On Injured List
3 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds placed left-hander Mike Minor (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list on Friday with left shoulder soreness and reinstated right-hander Connor Overton (back) from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. The team also sent catcher Aramis Ramirez (finger) on a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville and moved outfielder Nick Senzel (toe) to the 60-day IL. Minor was originally scheduled to start on Friday against the Brewers, but instead he'll likely miss the rest of the season. The 34-year-old had a rough season in his first year in Cincy, going 4-12 with a bloated 6.06 ERA (6.18 FIP), a 1.63 WHIP and a 76:40 K:BB in 98 innings over his 19 starts.

Mike Minor Reinstated And Starting Friday
3 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds reinstated left-hander Mike Minor (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and optioned outfielder TJ Friedl to Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Minor will make his season debut on Friday against the Washington Nationals. The 34-year-old southpaw injured his shoulder in spring training and had a setback on his rehab assignment in April, so he has yet to pitch in the big leagues in 2022. In his five rehab starts in the minors, Minor had an ugly 6.11 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 17 2/3 innings pitched. The good news for fantasy managers in deeper leagues that are considering picking Minor up is that he shouldn't face any innings restrictions in his first start of the year for the Reds.

Mike Minor To Return To Rotation On Friday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Mike Minor (shoulder) will return to the team's starting rotation and will make his season debut on Friday against the Washington Nationals. Minor has been on the injured list all season so far after he dealt with a shoulder injury in spring training and suffered a setback when he started a minor league rehab assignment in April. The 34-year-old left-hander had a 6.11 ERA and 1.24 WHIP while walking two and striking out 21 in 17 2/3 innings over five starts with Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville on his rehab assignment. Minor shouldn't have any restrictions placed on him in his first start, but he'll merely be a back-end rotation option in deeper leagues on a bad Reds team.

Mike Minor To Make Another Rehab Start
3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Mike Minor (shoulder) will make another minor league rehab start, likely on Thursday for Triple-A Louisville. Minor has been out all year with a left shoulder injury, but he's inching closer to making his 2022 debut for Cincy. The 34-year-old left-hander has already made four rehab starts with Louisville and Double-A Chattanooga, going 0-3 with an 8.49 ERA and 1.63 WHIP while walking two and striking out 12 in 11 2/3 innings pitched. Minor has allowed 17 total hits (four home runs), so the Reds probably want to see some better results before they feel comfortable adding the veteran hurler to their starting rotation. In 28 starts (158 2/3 frames) for the Kansas City Royals last year, Minor went 8-12 with a 5.05 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 41 walks and 149 K's.
