Jeff Wilson Jr. Should Be Avoided In Dolphins Debut
2 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson Jr. is expected to make his debut with the team against the Chicago Bears in Week 9. Traded from the San Francisco 49ers last Tuesday, Wilson has an immediate advantage since he played in a Mike McDaniel-led offense as recently as last year, and he has also had a full practice week to get up to speed. The Dolphins are also playing against a Bears run defense that, on a per-game basis, ranks 28th in fantasy points allowed to running backs, 30th in touchdowns allowed to running backs, and 24th in receiving yards allowed to running backs. With that said, Wilson is still worth benching in most fantasy leagues this week. We don't have perfect expectations of his role, and it seems almost guaranteed that Mostert, who has looked great over the last five weeks, will continue to handle the majority of rushes in Miami. For the time being, Wilson should be rostered but benched in fantasy football.
