2 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Zack Greinke is expected to return to pitch another season in 2023 with the team. Greinke's days of being interesting in fantasy are pretty much gone, but he did have a respectable 3.68 ERA (4.03 FIP) and a 1.34 WHIP in 137 innings pitched over 26 starts in his return to the Royals in 2022. However, the seven-time All-Star's 12.5 percent strikeout rate just leaves too much to be desired from a fantasy perspective, albeit with a rebuilding organization. Greinke is still relevant as a real-life veteran inning's eater for the Royals, but there's pretty much zero upside from a fantasy perspective. The 39-year-old right-hander is 118 strikeouts from reaching 3,000 in his Hall of Fame career.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
