Jonathan Taylor Injury News
Taylor's sprain could possibly be of the high-ankle variety, which would explain why he is struggling to get healthy and also explains why his production has been down this year. Recovery times can always vary but it generally can take up to six weeks or more to fully heal from a high-ankle sprain.
The star running back missed Weeks 5 and 6 with the issue before coming back and fighting through the ankle injury in Weeks 7 and 8. Over those two games, he combined for 134 rushing yards on 26 carries.
Taylor has been a disappointment in fantasy in 2022 as he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 1 and is averaging 4.3 yards per carry. He is now back on the injury report after reportedly tweaking the ankle injury during his team's Week 8 loss to the Commanders.
Colts RB Jonathan Taylor will not practice today after tweaking the same ankle that held him out of 2 games earlier this season. Reich said team will weigh his progress as the week progresses.
Signed Jordan Wilkins to the PS as well.

Is Jonathan Taylor Injured or Playing in Week 9?
Taylor himself told reporters that he opted to sit out of Week 6 to rest up the ankle. After he was able to play in the following two games, this latest development is definitely a step in the strong direction for the talented running back. That being said, it is too early to rule him out for Week 9 against New England.
Jonathan Taylor won't practice today. "The ankle's not 100 percent." Says Colts are hoping Taylor makes progress and can be ready to play against New England.

That being said, it isn't a great sign that the team recently signed Jordan Wilkins from the practice squad and took back Zack Moss in the Tuesday trade that shipped Nyheim Hines to Buffalo.
Taylor told reporters that he is still hoping to be able to play against the Patriots, which gives a glimmer of hope to his fantasy managers. Keep monitoring Taylor's status on Thursday and Friday's injury reports and leading up until kickoff on Sunday. If he doesn't play, look for the Colts to lean on Deon Jackson and possibly the newly-acquired Moss in Week 9.
