There weren't any majorly serious injuries to fantasy football stars on Sunday, but with six teams heading into a bye week, there will be more overall players on the fantasy radar for Week 9. That said, even some players on the fringe of being rosterable are worth monitoring. Our fantasy football injuries report highlights the banged-up players with fantasy significance and their early status heading into Week 9 as of Monday, October 31st, 2022. This article focuses on players who suffered injuries on Sunday of Week 8 games.
Cooper Kupp, Jonathan Taylor, Adam Thielen, DaVante Parker, and Christian Watson picked up bumps and bruises in Week 8. It's too early to draw conclusions about Week 9, but it's never too early to at least take a look at the group of key guys to prepare for waiver wire Wednesday or Thursday.

Cooper Kupp Injury Update
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) injured his right ankle late in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. The wideout was visibly limping and had it taped during the postgame news conference. Fortunately, Kupp reported he feels "pretty good right now," while adding, "things are pointing towards dodging a bullet." Besides the injury, he looked good in Week 8, finishing with eight catches for 79 yards.
He also scored a touchdown, finding the end zone off a 16-yard throw from Matthew Stafford in the second quarter. Fantasy managers should anticipate the 29-year-old to sit out a few practices throughout the week. However, if Kupp can't go in Week 9 versus the Buccaneers, Allen Robinson II and Van Jefferson will need to step up. Tyler Higbee, who briefly exited on Sunday due to a neck injury but returned, would also get more involved.
Jonathan Taylor Injury Update
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) returned to Sunday's meeting against the Commanders. He briefly exited with an ankle injury and was considered questionable to return.
However, Taylor had his ankle re-taped and seems to have avoided anything serious, much to the delight of fantasy managers. Still, managers should monitor the injury heading into Week 9 versus the Patriots.
Adam Thielen Injury Update
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (knee) suffered a knee contusion during the win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Despite a brief exit due to the ailment, the veteran still caught six of his seven targets for 67 yards, one of his best showings of the year.
Thielen has 10 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown over his last two games, so fantasy managers are hoping he's on the verge of turning things around. Assuming he receives the green light for the Week 9 meeting with the Commanders, he'll make a suitable flex option for those in deeper formats.
DaVante Parker Injury Update
New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) has been ruled out early of Week 8 versus the New York Jets. He exited during the first drive and was initially listed as questionable before being downgraded.
The 29-year-old has totaled seven catches for 132 yards over the course of his last two games, though he was unable to haul in his lone target Sunday. Tyquan Thornton and Nelson Agholor played more snaps in his absence, but Jakobi Meyers continued to be the target hog.
Mark Ingram Injury Update
New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) was quickly downgraded to out after leaving Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. With the Saints holding a large lead, they evidently decided that there was no need to rush Ingram back into action.
He caught one pass for two yards before exiting. Alvin Kamara took on a true workhorse role in his absence (18 carries, nine receptions).
Christian Watson Injury Update
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (head) did not return to Sunday night's matchup versus the Buffalo Bills. Watson returned for this one after missing his previous two games with a hamstring injury. However, the rookie didn't last long and was ruled out after taking a hit on Green Bay's opening drive, finishing with just one catch for 12 yards.
The team was already without Allen Lazard (shoulder) and Randall Cobb (ankle) heading into Week 8, so losing Watson is obviously not ideal for Aaron Rodgers and the struggling offense. Nonetheless, until any of those guys are ready to return, Romeo Dobbs, Sammy Watkins, and Samori Toure will see the most attention from Rodgers moving ahead. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon should also be involved more than usual.
