Then, in the third, Boldy would tally his second goal, which would be credited as an own-goal against the Islanders. The 23-year-old logged four shots on goal in this contest with a +2 rating. This outing snapped a five-game scoreless streak for Boldy. Prior to this slump, the 23-year-old tallied eight points (two goals, six helpers) over his previous six contests. Fantasy managers should expect Boldy to continue to see top minutes in the Minnesota offense with Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) sidelined.

In the opening frame, Boldy tallied his first helper with a primary assist on Jared Spurgeon's strike. In the second, Boldy would tack on the secondary assist on Joel Eriksson Ek's power-play goal. Then, in the final frame, Boldy would add another primary assist on Marcus Foligno's empty-netter. Boldy tallied four shots on goal and added a blocked shot. Over his previous 11 contests, Boldy has tallied an impressive 14 points (five goals, nine helpers), with four of the points coming on the man advantage. During this stretch, he has also averaged 3.7 shots on goal per game and a +3 rating. Boldy will look to stay hot on Wednesday when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Boldy opened the scoring in the game with a power-play goal within the first three minutes of the game. Later in the period, he would tack on the primary assist on Marco Rossi's power-play tally. This was his second multi-point showing over his previous three games. Over his last six games, Boldy has tallied eight points (four goals, four helpers) and averaged four shots on goal per game. Overall, the 23-year-old has tallied 39 points through 45 games and remains a must-start player in all formats given his role on the top line in the Minnesota offense. He will look to stay hot on Saturday evening against the Nashville Predators.

5 months agoMinnesota Wild winger Matt Boldy scored in a second consecutive game on Sunday, netting the game-winner in a 2-1 overtime victory against Toronto. This is the third time this season Boldy has scored in back-to-back games. He hasn't had a three-game goal streak since February. Half of Boldy's six goals have been game-winning tallies, and he's added seven assists to his account in 11 games. The 23-year-old is on pace to shatter his career high of 69 points from last season. A quick boost for his numbers could be on the horizon for Boldy, as he has matchups against the Kings and Sharks coming up. Both teams have struggled to keep the puck out of their net this season.
