We have another lighter Friday night, but as opposed to last week, we only have one conference tilt. There are no Power 5 teams on display, but there are a couple of teams that seem to be turning things around and another that is struggling worse than they have in years.
Both of the games start at the same time, so what we have is an action-packed three-hour tilt-fest. Sign me up! We have East Carolina, fresh off a dominant win over Central Florida, heading out to Provo to face a BYU team that was just embarrassed by Liberty. We have Louisiana Tech heading to Miami to take on a Florida International team that just embarrassed Charlotte last week. Are you ready for this one? I am!
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/28/22 locking at 8:00 pm Eastern time. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Holton Ahlers, East Carolina ($7,500)
You guys watched the Liberty game against BYU, right? The Cougars couldn't stop anything. Ahlers came up huge in the blowout win over UCF, but he still only accounted for two touchdowns. His upside is plenty high enough against BYU though, but we could see a situation like last week where the Pirates were running the ball so well that they didn't need to lean on Ahlers. His low mark in passing yards in a game this season is 263, so Ahlers still has a great floor even if he doesn't go nuts.
Gunnar Holmberg, Florida International ($6,200)
The Duke transfer got concussed in the season opener against Bryant but hadn't even come close to playing until last weekend. Holmberg practiced all last week but didn't make an appearance in FIU's game against Charlotte. There could be several reasons for that. Grayson James has been serviceable for the Panthers, but Holmberg still seems to be the more talented passer. Keep an eye on this situation. If James starts, I don't trust Holmberg and will probably just pay up for Hall with Ahlers.
Also consider: Jaren Hall, BYU ($8,000); Parker McNeil, Louisiana Tech ($5,300)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Keaton Mitchell, East Carolina ($6,800)
Mitchell has topped 100 rushing yards in each of the last two games and has scored five touchdowns in that span. He has also hauled in five passes. Mitchell is a huge part of this offense and should find plenty of room against a beaten-up BYU team. Don't expect a ceiling game here since that mountain air can be tough on teams, especially those that play at sea level. BYU has allowed 187 rushing yards per game this season though, so I still expect a strong game from Mitchell.
Lexington Joseph, Florida International ($5,200)
Joseph has turned into a big play waiting to happen. He has four touchdowns in the last four games, two of which came on plays of greater than 40 yards. This Panthers offense is improving and if the passing game ever gets out of neutral, Joseph could find even more room. It might not matter against the Bulldogs. Their run defense is the worst in FBS. The Bulldogs have allowed a staggering 265.3 rushing yards per game and 19 rushing touchdowns in just seven games. You can't even see the ceiling on Joseph from the ground in this one.
Also consider: Lopini Katoa, BYU ($5,000); EJ Wilson Jr., Florida International ($4,400); Marquis Crosby, Louisiana Tech ($3,000)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Isaiah Winstead, East Carolina ($7,000)
Ahlers throws, Winstead catches. So it was written in the ECU football bible. Winstead has at least five receptions in every game and has averaged 100 receiving yards per game. The low touchdown total is a bit of a drag, but few have the floor that Winstead does at any position. He's a cash game staple with good enough upside against a struggling BYU team.
Puka Nacua, BYU ($5,800)
Nacua was banged up a bit against Liberty, but still returned to the game and posted his second consecutive 100-yard game. 15 of his 19 receptions have come in the last two games along with four of his six touchdowns. Nacua has also carried the ball 10 times in the last two games. He does everything for the Cougars, and I'm inclined to use him even if he isn't at 100%.
Tre Harris, Louisiana Tech ($5,300)
If McNeil can't go in this game, I'm avoiding the La Tech passing game completely. The problem is that they have been a disaster running the ball as well. Harris has usurped the other Harris (Smoke) as the favorite in this passing game. He has five touchdowns in the last three games on 19 receptions for 347 yards. On top of that, Tre has also carried the ball a few times out of the backfield. Considering how poorly the FIU defense has fared against the run, Harris has some extra upside there as well.
Also consider: Tyrese Chambers, Florida International ($6,400); Smoke Harris, Louisiana Tech ($6,200); C.J. Johnson, East Carolina ($6,100); Griffin Hebert, Louisiana Tech ($4,700); Chase Roberts, BYU ($4,400)
