In a closely contested lightweight showdown on Saturday, Charles Oliveira was on the wrong side of a split-decision announcement after his fight with Arman Tsarukyan. Oliveira nearly won the fight in the opening stages as he put Tsarukyan in a guillotine choke, but Tsarukyan was able to escape, though. Then, at the end of the third round, Oliveira had Tsarukyan in another choke attempt, but the bell rang as Tsarukyan had a good defense to not tap. In 15 minutes of action, Oliveira landed 19 significant strikes. With the loss, Oliveira's UFC record is 22-10.

Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan will collide in a fight that just might determine the next title challenger on the UFC 300 pay-per-view main card on Saturday. Oliveira lost the UFC lightweight title to Islam Makhachev but then he got back in the win column by defeating Beniel Dariush via first-round knockout. DraftKings sees Oliveira as the underdog with a salary of $7,500. Throughout his UFC career (31 bouts), he averages 72.2 fantasy points per contest. If Oliveira triumphs over Tsarukyan, he will likely rematch Makhachev for the UFC lightweight belt.

Charles Oliveira put on an impressive performance on Saturday against Beneil Dariush by finishing him via TKO in the first round. In 4:10 of action, Oliveira had 26 significant strikes, 14 more than Dariush. Oliveira was hoping to rebound after being submitted by Islam Makhachev back in October of last year. Oliveira landed a head kick through Dariush's guard and followed up with a punch that dropped him. The Brazilian swarmed Dariush with ground strikes that forced referee Jason Herzog to step in to save Dariush from taking any more punishment. Oliveira ended up proving he isn't close to being done at the top of the lightweight division.
