Almost halfway through the NFL season, we have plenty of data to help us determine the weekly pecking order for kickers. However, projected point totals and weather conditions can always change things, so our Week 8 kicker rankings aim to help fantasy managers sort through all the variables to make the right start-or-sit decision at kicker.
Harrison Butker and whoever was slated to be the Los Angels Chargers kicker are on a bye so their fantasy owners should be searching for a one-week replacement. Long-time stud kicker Matt Prater (hip) has been out for a few weeks, but there's a real chance he returns for Week 8.
Fantasy managers who drafted a kicker early be looking at kicker rankings often, but it's always a good idea to have a general idea of what's going on at the position that doesn't get much publicity.

Kicker Streamers to Target for Week 8
Only players who are rostered in fewer than 50% of fantasy football leagues are considered streamers.
Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks (vs. New York Giants)
Myers is now the top-scoring kicker in all of fantasy football, and he's available in roughly 60 percent of fantasy leagues. The Seattle offense led by Geno Smith is one of the best in the league, and the New York Giants have a good enough offense to make this game another high-scoring affair. Myers should be rostered in all leagues and can be played immediately.
Graham Gano, New York Giants (at Seattle Seahawks)
Gano ranks top-five among kickers in total fantasy points, and like Myers, he'll be in a game that should see plenty of scoring opportunities and points. Gano has elite range and can especially pay off in leagues that reward extra points for longer field goals.
Will Lutz, New Orleans Saints (vs. Las Vegas Raiders)
Lutz is a top-12 fantasy kicker through seven weeks and will take part in a game with two poor defenses and two strong offenses. Weather isn't a factor in New Orleans, so Lutz should have plenty of clean opportunities to score points in Week 8.
Kicker Busts to Avoid for Week 8
Matt Gay, Los Angeles Rams (vs. San Francisco 49ers)
Gay was a top fantasy kicker in 2021 for the Super Bowl champions, but the Rams' offense looks like one of the worst in the league at this point in the season, and despite the 49ers giving up a ton of points in each of its last two games, it shouldn't have much trouble with the Rams stalled offense. Gay is outside the top 20 kickers in total fantasy points, and another tough matchup comes in Week 8.
Greg Zuerlein, New York Jets (vs. New England Patriots)
Zuerlein has been surprisingly fantasy relevant on what was expected to be a bad team, but this matchup spells trouble for the New York Jets. The Jets' offense hasn't been the same since Zach Wilson replaced Joe Flacco, and expect the New England Patriots to drag this game into the mud with its rushing attack and defense.
