Russell Wilson Optimistic For Week 7 Availability
2 years agoDenver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring) is reportedly optimistic about his status heading into Week 7. The former Pro Bowl quarterback hurt his hamstring during Monday night's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, but an MRI revealed no structural damage. When discussing his status, Wilson was quoted as saying "I feel better every day. I heal quick." The 33-year-old has a history of downplaying injuries, which was seen in 2021 with the Seattle Seahawks. Most would consider it best for him to get healthy considering the quality of his play on the field, but Wilson has never been one to back down easily. If he fails to suit up, though, backup quarterback Brett Rypien would likely be the next man up for Denver's Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets. Rypien should only be considered a starting option for fantasy football in deep Superflex leagues if he's named the starter.
