2 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that left-hander Nestor Cortes will be an option out of the bullpen in Game 5 of the American League Division Series on Monday against the Cleveland Guardians. In the Game 2 starts against the Guardians on Friday, Cortes gave up two runs on six hits while walking three and striking out three in five innings of work for a no-decision in an eventual 4-2 loss. The Yankees are going with right-hander Jameson Taillon as their starter in the deciding game of the series, but they might turn to Cortes later in the game out of the bullpen on short rest.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
