Jake Meyers Gets The Start In Game 2
Jake Meyers is starting in center field and is batting eighth in Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the Seattle Mariners and right-hander Luis Castillo on Thursday. He'll take over for Chas McCormick, who went 1-for-2 with a run scored in the Game 1 win on Tuesday. Meyers entered the game as a pinch-runner late in the game on Tuesday and scored a run, but Thursday will be his first start of this year's postseason. The 26-year-old finished the regular season slashing .227/.269/.313 with a home run, 15 RBI, 13 runs scored and two stolen bases in 150 at-bats over 52 games played in only his second major-league season.

Jake Meyers Homers Twice, Drives In Seven On Saturday
Jake Meyers came alive at the plate during Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Meyers nearly hit for the cycle as the White Sox had no answers for him during Saturday's game. He smacked a solo homer off right-hander Davis Martin in the third inning. Meyers would hit another blast in the sixth inning which would give the Astros the lead. He finished his day 4-for-4 with two homers, a triple, a double, and seven RBI in the win. This was an incredible game from Meyers, but fantasy managers shouldn't rush to the waiver wire. Meyers is better known for his defense and is unlikely to be producing many seven-RBI games in the future.

Jake Meyers Taking Seat For Third Straight Contest
Jake Meyers is out of the starting nine for the third-straight contest on Thursday evening. Meyers has been kept on the bench for the past three contests after starting three of the first four games of the campaign in center field. Instead, the Astros will give Mauricio Dubon the starting nod in center field. Through his first 10 at-bats of the campaign, Meyers has tallied two hits and added an RBI. He has struck out four times. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status in case he is dealing with an injury. Last season, Meyers appeared in a career-high 148 contests in Houston and held a .219/.286/.360 slash line with 13 long balls and 11 stolen bases. Dubon is not worth targeting in DFS this afternoon, facing Joe Ryan, who allowed just one run in his first start of the campaign.

Cam Smith, Brendan Rodgers, Jake Meyers Not In Saturday's Lineup
Brendan Rodgers and outfielders Cam Smith and Jake Meyers are not in Saturday's lineup when the Astros conclude a three-game set against the New York Mets. As a result, Zach Dezenzo will cover right field for Smith, Mauricio Dubon will cover the keystone for Rogers, and Chas McCormick will replace Meyers in center field. Fantasy managers should expect Smith, Rogers, and Meyers to all return to the starting lineup on Monday evening when they host the San Francisco Giants. Smith has started in right field during the first two games of the campaign. Rogers has emerged as Houston's No. 1 second baseman while Jake Meyers appears to be the top option in center field. Dezenzo, Dubon, and McCormick are worth a look in DFS facing New York right-hander Griffin Canning, who held a 5.19 ERA last season.

Jon Singleton, Jake Meyers Out For Game 2
Jon Singleton and outfielder Jake Meyers are on the bench for Game 2 of the wild-card series on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers at Minute Maid Park. Victor Caratini is making the start at first base and will bat sixth, while Chas McCormick is starting in center field and in the nine-hole in a must-win game against Tigers left-handed opener Tyler Holton. Both Singleton and Meyers could enter Wednesday's contest later on once the lefty is out of the game. Neither Caratini nor McCormick bring a ton of DFS appeal to the table on Wednesday. Caratini hit .269 (66-for-245) on the year with eight home runs and 30 RBI, while McCormick had the worst season of his four-year career with a .211/.271/.306 slash line and five home runs in 94 games. McCormick was just activated from the injured list after fracturing his right hand in mid-September.
