Max Fried Lackluster In NLDS Game 1 Loss Tuesday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried was not firing on all cylinders in Tuesday's National League Division Series Game 1 7-6 loss to the Phillies. The 28-year-old lefty pitched just 3 1/3 innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Fried had recently been battling a flu bug, and it seemed to affect his performance, as his velocity was down and he was the one responsible for the unearned runs due to a throwing error. Fried would be in line to start Game 5 on Sunday in Atlanta if the series gets extended. The Braves will hope that he can pitch more in line with his stellar regular season stats if he is needed.
