Sammy Blais Expected To Be Fine For Season Opener
2 years agoNew York Rangers winger Sammy Blais wasn't able to complete the team's preseason finale on Saturday against the Islanders, but it appears that he isn't seriously hurt. Head coach Gerard Gallant has said that Blais should be fine for the team's season opener, which comes on Tuesday against Tampa Bay. Blais is looking to bounce back from an ACL tear in 2022-23. The injury limited him to just 14 games last season. The Rangers even had him on the top line at the start of the preseason, but he skated on the fourth line on Saturday and is set to stay there for the start of the regular season. This obviously makes him irrelevant in fantasy hockey, but that could change over the course of the season.
