Is Alvin Kamara Healthy or Injured? Will Kamara Play In Week 5? Fantasy Football Outlook

Is Alvin Kamara hurt or healthy? Is Alvin Kamara playing in Week 5 fantasy football, or is he injured? Read the latest Week 5 fantasy football injury updates.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ribs) is questionable for Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Kamara has been dealing with a rib issue and has missed two of the Saints' last three games. He was a limited participant in practice this week, and his official status for Week 5 won't be announced until 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday.

This leaves fantasy managers wondering about their elite receiver. Is Kamara injured? Will he play in Week 5? Let's dive in.

Alvin Kamara Injury Updates for Fantasy Football

The Saints will already be without star wide receiver Michael Thomas and starting quarterback Jameis Winston. Kamara said he feels good and plans to play against Seattle.

Alvin Kamara Injury News

Kamara initially picked up the rib issue during the Week 2 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He says he feels great and is "ready to roll" against the Seahawks. "This week, I'm feeling great, healthy, ready to roll, said Kamara. "So, I'm going to be out there."

Barring any setbacks, Kamara is expected to play and will provide a boost to a Saints offense that is averaging 18 points per game, ranks 19th overall.

Alvin Kamara: Fantasy Football Outlook

Kamara has rushed for 100 yards on 24 attempts while catching five passes for 19 yards over two games in 2022. He is in an absolute smash spot against Seattle's defense that allows 150 yards per game on the ground and ranks 32nd in rush DVOA this season. The 27-year-old lit up the Seahawks in the previous game against time, racking up 179 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.

If active, Kamara is a must-start in Week 5. The veteran back was expected to play in the London game last Sunday but was ultimately a late scratch. Fantasy managers should check back an hour and a half before 1 e.t. kickoff to ensure he's active, but all reports indicate that Kamara will be all systems go against Seattle, making a borderline RB1 in Week 5.
