Yankees Expect Matt Carpenter To Be On ALDS Roster
2 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that he expects infielder Matt Carpenter (foot) "to be on the roster" for the American League Division Series, which starts next Tuesday, Oct. 11. It remains to be seen how much Carpenter will actually play next week, as he hasn't played for the Yankees since Aug. 8 due to a fractured foot. However, his return to an already powerful lineup will be big as the team looks to make a deep postseason run. The 36-year-old left-handed hitter was in the midst of an impressive bounce-back season in the Bronx before his injury, slashing an impressive .305/.412/.727 with a 1.138 OPS, 15 long balls, 37 RBI and 28 runs scored in 128 at-bats.
