New York Yankees infielder Gleyber Torres (illness) remains out of the starting lineup for the regular season finale on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers. It will be Torres' fifth straight missed game to close out the regular season while he deals with an illness, but he should be ready to go for the start of the American League Division Series next week. The 25-year-old will finish his 2022 regulars season with a .257/.310/.451 slash line to go along with 24 home runs, 76 RBI, 73 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 140 games played. DJ LeMahieu is getting the start at the keystone and is hitting leadoff on Wednesday, while Oswald Peraza is at shortstop and batting fifth against Rangers right-hander Glenn Otto.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that second baseman Gleyber Torres' hamstring was feeling a little tight, which is why he was removed as a precaution in Thursday's win over the Los Angeles Angels. Torres will not start in Game 2 of the series in Anaheim but was not sent for testing. Torres continued to swing a hot bat in the 10-4 victory against the Halos on Thursday before leaving the game, going 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk to raise his season slash line to .300/.360/.475. The Venezuelan infielder has added four home runs, 15 RBI, 13 runs scored and four stolen bases in 80 at-bats in his first year in Detroit as their starting second baseman. Fantasy managers will want to make sure to remove him from their lineups on Friday, but he should be back in there on Saturday. Torres has already been on the injured list once this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres had another big game in a 10-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. Torres went 3-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk to help propel Detroit to the win. The veteran infielder has now homered in two of his past three contests as he looks to heat up in May. Torres is now hitting .300 with four homers, 13 runs, 15 RBI, and four steals across 80 at-bats this season. He has been especially hot of late, with a .333 average, two homers, and eight RBI over his past seven games. Torres should be locked into fantasy lineups while he's on a hot streak at the plate.--Matt T - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Houston Astros. He added two singles and a stolen base. His home run came in the top of the ninth inning with the Tigers down by four runs, cutting the deficit to two, though that'd be the final runs they'd push across. The Venezuela native has been solid in his first stint with Detroit, batting .292 with three home runs, four steals, 14 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 18 games. Aside from his average -- which would be the highest of his career if it holds -- Torres is sporting a minuscule 8.0% strikeout rate, placing him in the 98th percentile of all major-league hitters. A change of scenery has boded well for the 28-year-old.--Alex Ciulla

Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres and catcher Dillon Dingler will both take a seat for Saturday's contest against the division-rival Minnesota Twins at Target Field. Torres made his return from the injured from a minor oblique strain for Friday's series opener against the Twins and went 2-for-4 with a walk in the 7-6 win. He's hit well in his first three games with the Tigers this year, going 5-for-11 with a homer, an RBI and a stolen base. Colt Keith shifts to second base and is hitting fifth, while Tomas Nido is doing the catching for rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe and is hitting ninth against Twins right-hander Chris Paddack. Spencer Torkelson is at first base and is batting third. With Jake Rogers (oblique) out at least a month, Dingler has become Detroit's primary backstop. Nido is hitless in three career at-bats against Paddack and should be avoided in DFS.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
