Ross Chastain lucked out a bit as few seem interested in retribution for his past misgivings. The chase for the "Round of Eight" takes over an interest. As for the TrackHouse Racing driver, his top-ten result last week put him in an excellent playoff position. Chastain has won at Talladega before (this Spring). In that race, the No. 1 Chevy started 19th, got up to ninth by Stage 2, then led 22 laps en route to the win. He survived the attrition masterfully. Starting sixth may keep him out of the early cautions as Chastain has the speed around the banking to contend. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Ross Chastain's improved racecraft this year continued with yet another race where he turned a terrible qualifying result into a terrific finish. Chastain started 31st in yesterday's Wurth 400 and was a total nonfactor for the first two stages, but Trackhouse Racing has tended to have the best green flag pit strategy recently as Chastain and Daniel Suárez seem to routinely benefit from staying out of the pits during green flag pit cycles and catching cautions to propel them through the field. It happened again yesterday, as this strategy allowed Chastain to jump from 20th to 13th, and then several more crashes and the fact that Chastain is currently the best duelist on restarts culminated in an improbable second-place finish that was far better than his car. Despite the finish, Chastain fell from a tie for 10th to 11th in points because Joey Logano (the driver he was previously tied with) won the race.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller

Ross Chastain qualifies poorly and gets a good finish. Rise, rinse, repeat. Trackhouse Racing qualifying has been generally terrible this season and yesterday was no exception as Chastain qualified 31st for today's race at Texas. However, he's toned down his aggression and has now developed a plodding, methodical style more reminiscent of Chris Buescher, which is reaping dividends this season. Unlike Buescher, however, Chastain has been good at Texas with this car, finishing second in 2023 and leading 33 laps last year and winning Stage 2 before a last-lap crash. Texas is a track where strategy plays are paramount, and while Trackhouse may have slow cars they tend to have brilliant race strategies so you can almost count on both Chastain and Daniel Suárez finishing better than they run. Based on his performances this season and his poor qualifying, Chastain is almost a must-have for DFS.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller

Ross Chastain should be one of your most-used drivers in DFS this weekend. The Trackhouse Racing driver has been one of the strongest at Talladega Superspeedway in the Next Gen era, with the fifth-best driver rating among active drivers in the six races here with this new car. Additionally, Chastain went to victory lane here back in 2022 and also had a fourth-place finish to his credit that season. This weekend, the Watermelon Man will roll off the starting grid from 32nd-place when the Jack Link's 500 goes green, which means Chastain has very high Place Differential upside for DFS players. Because of that, along with his very strong track history, you should have plenty of Chastain exposure with your daily fantasy lineups at Talladega on Sunday. At Atlanta earlier this season--which is another drafting track--Ross came home eighth after starting back in 33rd. --Jordan McAbee

Trackhouse Racing's Ross Chastain obtained a starting position of 35th after qualifying for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. This will be the fifth time in his Cup career that Chastain will start 30th or lower in a race at Bristol. In nine previous races at the last great coliseum, Chastain has four top-20 finishes, which all came during his last five appearances at the site. Through eight races so far in the 2025 season, Chastain has six finishes of 12th or better. In practice, Chastain ranked 36th in overall lap averages while displaying top-20 speeds in the 15 and 20 consecutive lap average categories. Chastain looked off in practice but has been solid at Bristol in the last few years, obtained favorable results this season, and has plenty of upside this week. DFS players should utilize the driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet this week in all formats, as he is someone who can compete for a top-20 finish.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
