2 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Andy Dalton is in line to draw the start Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings with starter Jameis Winston (back, ankle, hip) doubtful to play. The 34-year-old signed a one-year deal this offseason to back up Winston. He threw for 1,515 yards and an 8:9 TD: INT ratio over eight games with the Bears in 2021. Dalton will be without star wide receiver Michael Thomas (foot), who was ruled out for Sunday's game. The rest of the Saints' wide receiver core, Jarvis Landry and Chris Olave, will be available. Dalton has a plus matchup against the Vikings, who rank 15th against opposing quarterbacks and 26th in pass DVOA this season.
