Is Gabe Davis healthy or injured? Will Davis play in Week 3?

Gabriel Davis - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Is Gabe Davis hurt or healthy? Is Keenan Allen playing in Week 3 fantasy football or is he injured? Read the latest Week 3 fantasy football injury updates.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis got off to a hot start in Week 1, finishing as the WR14 on the week. Those who drafted Davis thought they had a possible league winner. In typical fantasy football fashion, the breakout receiver got banged up in a late week practice and was forced to miss Week 2.

Entering the season we knew Davis had a nose for the end zone. It was his role in the offense that fantasy managers were hopeful would grow and lead to immediate production. Starting off on the right foot was huge for his rest-of-season outlook.

While it was unfortunate we didn't get to see if Davis could continue his Week 1 success last week, it was presented as a not-so-serious injury. After reports and status updates throughout the week, it's time for managers to know just how injured Davis is. Most importantly, will he play in Week 3? Let's take a look at what we know as of now.

Gabe Davis Injury Updates for Fantasy Football

It was a positive sign that the Bills held out hope for Davis to play leading up to their Monday night game in Week 2. While he didn't end up playing, this still showed that the injury wasn't considered long-term. Entering Week 3, practice participation status would be important in Davis' potential availability in Week 3.

Any Wednesday practice participation is a good sign for a player's game status following a missed game. All was looking bright for Davis to start the week. We even saw some live action of him practicing on the ankle and looking good.

Davis continued to be a limited participant in practice Thursday and Friday. He even provided us with an update after practice in the below media session.

All signs continued to point to Davis making his return after just one game missed. He was primed to get back into lineups and help fantasy teams. Unfortunately, it wasn't going to be that easy. Another practice video surfaced showing Davis testing the ankle on a deep comeback route. As you can see, it didn't go as viewers had hoped.

Will Davis Play In Week 3?

It has been a rollercoaster of a week for those monitoring the status of Gabe Davis. One thing that is important to point out is that you rarely get this much video and media coverage on a specific player's injury available to the public eye. Being limited in practice all week is in fact a positive sign for Davis' availability.

Luckily for fantasy managers, the Bills will face the Dolphins at 1:00 ET. Plenty of pivot options will be available if his status does come down to game time. While most reports do point toward Davis playing in this game, it is important to have a backup plan and keep a close eye on not just his active/inactive status, but if there will be any limitations with his play.

Come Sunday, if there are no negative reports about how he is feeling and Davis gets the green light, you can feel confident with the Bills WR2 being just that for your fantasy team in Week 3.
