Christian McCaffrey Injury Update
McCaffrey (ankle) was limited in practice on Thursday, igniting fear in some fantasy managers ahead of the third week of the season. However, he logged a full practice session on Friday and has been removed from the injury report. McCaffrey will be active in Week 3 as he finds himself in the mid-range RB1 tier once again.
D'Andre Swift Injury Update
Swift (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday before becoming a limited participant on Thursday and Friday. Although he is officially listed as questionable for Week 3, Swift is on track to play, just like he did last week. Against Washington, Swift logged 56 rushing yards, 31 receiving yards, and one touchdown. He should be viewed as a mid-to-low RB1 in fantasy football this week.
Alvin Kamara Injury Update
Kamara (rib) closed out the week with his third consecutive limited practice session. The Pro Bowl back is listed as questionable for Week 3 and could be a true game-time decision, though it's promising that he was able to practice in some capacity all week long. Look for Kamara to carve out a key role in the running and passing games if active.
Leonard Fournette Injury Update
Fournette (hamstring) has officially been listed as questionable after logging limited practice sessions all week long. The 27-year-old totaled a whopping 137 scrimmage yards in Week 1 before dropping down to just 74 against the Saints last Sunday. That yardage total can be acceptable, but only if it is accompanied by a touchdown. Not only does Fournette have a favorable matchup on tap, but he could also be force-fed the football since the Buccaneers' wide receiver corps is injured. He projects as a low-end RB2 versus Green Bay.
James Conner Injury Update
Conner (ankle) opened the week as a non-participant but has now strung together two limited sessions. He is officially listed as questionable for Week 3. The physical Arizona back has registered 51 rushing yards and 55 receiving yards through parts of two games this season, putting him in the mid-to-low RB2 range if he suits up.
J.K. Dobbins Injury Update
Dobbins (knee) practiced in full all week long but is still listed as questionable heading into Sunday's game against the Patriots. As we saw last week, even a week of full practice does not guarantee Dobbins will be active, though he's certainly trending in the right direction. If he does suit up, Dobbins would fall into the RB3 tier in his first game back.
Josh Jacobs Injury Update
Jacobs (illness) has now missed two consecutive days of practice and is officially listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Titans. Most notably, Jacobs will not travel with the team to Tennessee; he'll be inactive this weekend, barring a miracle. Brandon Bolden (hamstring), Ameer Abdullah, and Zamir White should handle backfield duties until Jacobs returns in Week 4.
Tyrion Davis-Price Injury Update
Davis-Price (ankle) was unable to practice at all this week and has officially been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. The rookie commanded 14 carries last week but was inefficient with the ball, posting just 33 yards (2.36 YPC). There was an opportunity for him to carve out a larger role in the 49ers' offense going forward, but that will now have to wait until he gets healthy. In the meantime, Jeff Wilson Jr. should lead the backfield with Jordan Mason and Deebo Samuel earning touches, too.
Dontrell Hilliard Injury Update
Hilliard (hamstring) was limited on Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full participation on Friday. After totaling 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns back in Week 1, Hilliard has a chance to return from injury and carve out a passing-down role behind megastar Derrick Henry.
Brandon Bolden Injury Update
Bolden (hamstring) upgraded from limited to full participation during Friday's practice session. He has been removed from the injury report and will be active for Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans. Although he was not a major offensive contributor back in Week 1, Bolden has the chance to rise up the depth chart now that Josh Jacobs (illness) has been ruled out.
