DeAndre Carter - Week 3 Outlook For Fantasy Football
DeAndre Carter played on 65% of snaps last week with Keenan Allen (hamstring) inactive. He could be in line for an increased role once again with Allen's status in question for a Week 3 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately, quarterback Justin Herbert (ribs) is also listed as questionable for Sunday, so the Chargers could be relying on Chase Daniel as their starter this week. Regardless, Carter only garnered three targets last week and can only be considered a desperation flex option in the deepest of fantasy leagues if Herbert is in and Allen is out. Otherwise, he is best left on the waiver wire.

DeAndre Carter Unlikely To Return On Sunday
DeAndre Carter (hamstring) isn't expected to return to Sunday's game versus the 49ers. The wideout isn't a routine option for Caleb Williams. However, his likely absence will be felt on special teams. With wide receiver Tyler Scott inactive, the team may turn to cornerback Josh Blackwell to handle return duties for the remainder of Week 14.

Teven Jenkins, DeAndre Carter Both Suiting Up Against Panthers
DeAndre Carter (ribs) are active for Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. Both players had been listed as questionable after practicing in a limited capacity on Friday. Jenkins has been an offensive staple for the Bears this season, playing every offensive snap through the first three weeks before an injury took him out of the game early in Week 4. Meanwhile, Carter has been productive this season, too. In addition to catching seven passes for 60 yards, he also has five kick returns (34 yards per return) and nine punt returns (9.4 yards per return). However, he's off the fantasy radar in most leagues.

Bears Signing DeAndre Carter
DeAndre Carter, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. The 2015 undrafted free agent has spent time with nine NFL organizations, including the Bears in 2020. Overall, the 31-year-old has tallied 108 receptions for 1,259 yards and six touchdowns. However, he has returned 132 punts and 118 kickoffs in 94 career games, so that's likely why Chicago was interested in bringing him in. Carter is likely to compete with third-year wideout Velus Jones Jr. for return-man duties, a role that could be more important following the updated kickoff rules in 2024. With DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze on the roster, it'd be a surprise if Carter makes an impact as a receiver.

DeAndre Carter Likely Available On Sunday
DeAndre Carter (knee) is expected to debut with his new squad on Sunday against the Broncos. The journeyman wideout, who signed with Vegas in March, has recently been burdened by a knee issue. But it appears he's good to go for Week 1. Carter is coming off his most productive year, catching 46 passes for 538 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games with the Chargers. However, he won't have Justin Herbert slinging him the ball, so he's hard to take seriously from a fantasy standpoint, even more so with Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, and Hunter Renfrow in the picture.
