Allen Lazard Taken Off Of Injury Report
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard (ankle) was left off the final injury report and will play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. After missing Thursday's practice, Lazard returned Friday, putting in a limited session. Teammate Sammy Watkins (hamstring) has already been ruled out, while Christian Watson (hamstring) and Randall Cobb (illness) are both listed as questionable. Head coach Matt LaFleur stated Friday that rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs is "going to have to take more of a load this week." However, now that Lazard has been given the green light, he could also see a heavier target share as the top target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The matchup is not great for the 27-year-old, as Tampa Bay has held the opposing wide receiver corps to an average of 17.2 points per game, the fifth fewest through the first two weeks. With that said, Lazard should still be considered a flex option as the Packers' No. 1 wide receiver.
