T.J. Hockenson Still A Top-10 Tight End Play
2 years agoDetroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson (hip) is questionable for Week 3 but he's still ranked inside the top 10 at his position if active. Hockenson is off to a slow start to the season, catching only seven passes for 64 yards thus far. However, he's drawn 14 targets – good for eighth among all tight ends. He's had a few bad drops and some inefficient games, but based on his track record, he should pick it up. Few tight ends possess as much upside as Hockenson, especially since the Lions' offense looks like one of the top units in the league. There are very few "safe" tight ends, so fantasy managers must play the upside guy at this scarce position. The Minnesota Vikings yielded five receptions and 82 yards to Dallas Goedert, so perhaps a similar performance could be in store for the fourth-year pass-catcher.
