George Kirby Has Off Day Thursday
2 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby did not have his characteristic strong command Thursday, as he walked more than one batter for the first time in his career. Kirby gave up five runs on seven hits and three free passes while recording just seven outs. He struck out one. This was also the shortest outing of Kirby's career, and it raised his ERA and WHIP to 3.30 and 1.18 with 124 strikeouts in 120 innings this year. Despite the road bump, he has been extremely impressive in this rookie campaign, and he should be in high demand heading into 2023 fantasy drafts.
