Gabe Davis Optimistic He Will Play In Week 3
Gabe Davis (ankle) is optimistic he will return to action in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins after being held out of the team's home opener in Week 2. Davis was limited at practice on Wednesday and got in a second consecutive day of work on Thursday, and based on his comments on his optimism, the 23-year-old has a good chance to return on Sunday. Still, fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status leading up to kickoff. Davis will slot back in his as Josh Allen's No. 2 wide receiver, meaning he should be in starting lineups if he is active. If he isn't able to suit up for the second straight game, Jake Kumerow could be an interesting option considering he played 78 percent of the offensive snaps in Davis' absence.

49ers Hosting Gabe Davis On A Visit
Gabe Davis (knee) on a visit on Monday, a source tells FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Jaguars released Davis with a failed-physical designation last Wednesday. The 26-year-old continues to recover from the knee injury he dealt with in 2024, but he's expected to be fully healthy for the 2025 regular season. Davis was a disappointment for the Jags and fantasy managers a year ago, as he set career-lows in catches (20), targets (42), receiving yards (239) and touchdowns (two) while playing only 10 games (nine starts). He should be able to bounce back if healthy, though, and he'd provide the Niners with a field-stretching presence in the passing game with Brandon Aiyuk (knee) potentially not being ready for the start of the year. Still, Davis would be a volatile boom/bust fantasy receiver in San Fran.

Gabe Davis Released With Failed-Physical Designation
Gabe Davis (knee) on Thursday with a failed-physical designation. A torn meniscus ended Davis' first and only season in Jacksonville last year after just 10 games. The 26-year-old had signed a three-year, $39 million contract with the team. The former fourth-rounder of the Buffalo Bills in 2020 out of Central Florida caught 20 of 42 targets for 239 yards and two touchdowns in his 10 games (nine starts) before tearing his meniscus last year. It remains to be seen if he'll be full speed and ready to go for the start of the 2025 regular season this fall as he looks to latch on with a new team. Davis has always been more of a boom/bust fantasy asset, but his value moving forward will depend on where he surfaces. Second-year man Brian Thomas Jr. is the Jags' clear WR1, with Dyami Brown and two-way rookie Travis Hunter now in line for bigger roles.

Jaguars Release Gabe Davis
Gabe Davis, according to an announcement from the team. Davis appeared in 10 games (nine starts) last season, which was his first with the Jaguars. He converted 42 targets into just 20 catches, 239 yards, and two touchdowns. Each of these four marks represented career-lows as Davis struggled to match the level of production that he delivered during the four years with the Buffalo Bills. Still just 26 years old, Davis should find a new landing spot thanks to his previous experience as a solid No. 2 receiver in Buffalo. However, he is no longer a reliable fantasy football option, and he'll still have to compete to earn a roster spot somewhere this summer.

Gabe Davis Placed On Injured Reserve
Gabe Davis (knee) is heading to the Injured Reserve list due to a knee injury, and his 2024 season is over. The former Buffalo Bill signed a three-year, $39 million deal this offseason to join a team that was supposed to compete for an AFC South championship. In 10 games with Jacksonville, he racked up 20 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns. While he was not much of a fantasy football contributor, his absence for the rest of the season could open more opportunities for Parker Washington. That said, all of the Jaguars' offensive skill players lack upside until Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) returns from his shoulder injury, which could be after the Week 12 bye.
