Eagles Defense Records Three Interceptions In Week 2
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles intercepted quarterback Kirk Cousins three times and recorded two sacks during the team's 24-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings Monday. Cornerback Darius Slay was glued to Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson for most of the night, coming up with two key interceptions. The Eagles' front seven did not blitz often, but they gave Cousins little time to throw, hitting him seven times and sacking him twice. Perhaps most impressive, Philadelphia recorded 11 passes defended against a tough Minnesota passing attack. It could be tough to trust the Eagles' defense against Washington next week, who have been led by quarterback Carson Wentz and his seven passing touchdowns through two games. However, with Jacksonville, Arizona, and Dallas coming up after Washington in Week 3, Philadelphia seems like a good defense to stash.
