BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 43% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It's time to believe. Raheem Mostert, even though widely rostered in Yahoo fantasy leagues, put up a dud in Week 1 scoring just 4.2 PPR points while appearing in just 25 snaps (42% of all Dolphins' snaps). It is not that the score improved that much this past weekend, but one thing changed compared to Week 1 and that was Miami's backfield configuration with Mostert deployed in 39 snaps to Edmonds' 36. That's a promising development.
Edmonds out-snapped Mostert 38 to 25 in Week 1 but things got flipped this past Sunday. The actual usage also changed with Edmonds getting the larger workload in W1 (16 opportunities of which all 16 ended in touches) compared to W2 (just five carries and three targets, only one reception). Mostert, on the other hand, has gone from 5-and-1 (carries/targets) to 11-and-3 including turning all those three targets into receptions this weekend.
Mostert's outcomes have not been great, mind you. He could only post a 4.2-PPR tally in W1 and score 10.9 PPR points this past weekend. That said, though, he did it on a fairly low volume but at a rather efficient pace. He rushed for 51 yards on just 11 carries (4.5 YPC) and also racked up 28 yards on only three receptions (9.3 YPR).
Edmonds felt a sure thing in this offense because of his pass-catching prowess, or rather, because of Mostert's lack of it. That might be changing, and if that's the case then Mostert would make a strong case to play more than Edmonds in Miami. The touches might be low (at least for now, we'll see how that evolves) but it makes sense to have Mostert rostered for when the true explosion happens.
