Tyrie Cleveland Sees More Playing Time Sunday
2 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland was forced into a bigger role in Sunday's 16-9 Week 2 win over the Houston Texans when Jerry Jeudy (shoulder) was injured in the first half. Jeudy never returned to the game and could be questionable to play in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers. Cleveland caught two of his three targets in the game for 28 yards. The 24-year-old was well behind Courtland Sutton's 11 targets. Kendall Hinton caught his only target for a 20-yard gain. If Jeudy cannot play next weekend, Cleveland and Hinton will have bigger roles yet again, but they aren't really worth a waiver-wire pickup, even in deeper leagues. If anything, running backs Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon III will soak up more targets from quarterback Russell Wilson.
