Antonio Gibson Scores In Week 2 Loss
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson had 14 carries for 28 yards and one touchdown along with two receptions for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions. After a successful Week 1 where he was used often as a receiver, the 24-year-old saw his multidimensional upside slip away as J.D. McKissic reclaimed his receiving back role in Week 2. The issue with this backfield is that the running back touches are fairly game script-dependent. Against the Lions, the Commanders were in a negative game script for the entire game, which led to McKissic seeing the bulk of the targets. Despite this mediocre performance, Gibson should still be valued as a solid RB2, at least until Brian Robinson returns from injury.
