DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Week 2 Daily College Fantasy Football - Saturday Main Slate (9/10/22)

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the Saturday Main Week 2 (9/10/22) slate. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

Week 2 doesn't include as many marquee matchups as Week 1, but let's face it: it's easy to get spoiled after the great games we had last weekend. That's not to say that this isn't still going to be a fantastic Saturday for DFS purposes.

Appalachian State heads to College Station after nearly knocking off the Tarheels. We have a couple of nice rivalries on this slate with the battle for the CyHawk trophy and Colorado playing Air Force. Missouri heads to the Little Apple for the first time since leaving the Big 12(10). Houston-Texas Tech and Wake-Vandy have big time DFS potential, but it can't hold a candle to Pitt in Knoxville. Did I mention that Bama plays Texas? This is going to be great!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/10/22 locking at noon eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Bryce Young, Alabama ($10,200)

Yeah, Young only threw for 195 yards in the opener against Utah State, but he still threw five touchdowns. It was an elite day for Young and another should be in store here against a Texas defense that was roughed up several times last year. Sure, Texas may get better, but they didn't learn anything in Week 1 that they'll be able to apply against Ala-damn-bama. Young is the safest play on the slate and still has huge upside.

KJ Jefferson, Arkansas ($7,400)

Jefferson started the 2022 campaign with a four-touchdown game. Not bad, huh? South Carolina is a lot better than they were last year, but that could also be a boost to Jefferson's fantasy output. If the Gamecocks can stay in this game, Jefferson will have to do a lot more on his own to win this game. He is the focal point of the offense and he is relatively cheap for what he is capable of. I like Jefferson as a GPP anchor.

Adrian Martinez, Kansas State ($6,700)

Getting out of Lincoln was the best thing Martinez could have done. This angry, entitled fan base turned on him and even if he won the Heisman this year, they still would have complained about him. A fresh start was needed and this is a perfect system for Martinez. I think he's in for a huge year and it starts here against Missouri.

Clayton Tune, Houston ($6,500)

I don't think you have to pay up at QB this week. There are some great cheap options, with Tune likely being the best of them. He had a good game in the opener against a strong UTSA team. This should be another competitive game for the Cougars which could lead to more big numbers from Tune. At this price, it's worth finding out in any format.

Also consider: Haynes King, Texas A&M ($8,700); Hendon Hooker, Tennessee ($7,800); Sean Clifford, Penn State ($7,300); Tyler Van Dyke, Miami ($6,400); Mike Wright, Vanderbilt ($5,400)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Raheim Sanders, Arkansas ($7,900)

Trelon who? Seriously though, whenever a back hits triple digits against a defense like Cincinnati, I'm paying attention. Sanders ran for 118 yards and caught three passes. Even though he didn't find the end zone, Sanders was still productive. This South Carolina defense, while improving, is still not as good as Cincinnati's. Sanders could be in for another big game here.

Brad Roberts, Air Force ($6,500)

Colorado bled rushing yards against TCU last week. That's not good going against a triple-option team. I like Haaziq Daniels if you're looking to get creative at quarterback as well, but Roberts is a bruiser who is going to rack up a ton of yards again this week.

Frank Gore Jr., Southern Mississippi ($6,200)

Frank's dad went to Miami in better years for the Hurricanes. Miami's run defense has been strong, but USM literally has nothing else besides Gore. He ran 32 times in the first game and there is no reason for him not to see at least as much action in this one as well. It's going to be tough sledding for Gore, but how can we ignore this narrative?

Jirehl Brock, Iowa State ($4,300)

Yes, that Iowa defense is outstanding. I'm not going to argue that. However, Brock feels too cheap here for a featured back against a team that can't move the ball. Realistically, all Brock really needs to do is break one long run or get in the end zone. Given the number of touches he is going to get in this game, betting on one of those things to happen feels like easy money.

Also consider: Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama ($8,700); Deuce Vaughn, Kansas State ($7,600); Chase Brown, Illinois ($6,400); Cody Shrader, Missouri ($4,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Jermaine Burton, Alabama ($8,100)

I'm not sure what else we wanted to see from Burton. He led the Tide in receptions and scored twice on red-zone targets. He is clearly going to be the top receiver for Young. Burton is mainly a GPP option because Bryce Young moves the ball around to many different receivers, but he looks to Burton first in the red zone. Paying for Burton is not a bad idea, especially if you pay up for Young. Trust me. There's plenty of value.

Ainias Smith, Texas A&M ($7,200)

Smith is an all-world athlete and he has a great rapport with Haynes King. Most will try to afford the Alabama stack, but I'm leaning heavily towards King/Smith in what could be a really high-scoring game against Appalachian State. Well...at least the Aggies will score a lot of points. Smith is electric and has a chance to house it every time he touches the ball.

Nathaniel Dell, Houston ($6,000)

Dell at this price is laughable. Not only is he the unquestioned number one receiver on this team, but Dell also returns kicks and almost broke one last week against UTSA. Dell is always around the ball in this offense. Dell is an elite receiver and could be the highest scorer on the slate. Dell is going to be in every one of my lineups this week.

Chimere Dike, Wisconsin ($4,200)

Being the number one receiver for Wisconsin is a little bit like being the best player on your beer league softball team. Dike is a big fish in Wisconsin's little pond, but in the grand scheme of things, he's never going to put up big numbers because this team runs a lot. Still, Dike is cheap for a guy who should still see a half-dozen targets.

Also consider: Cedric Tillman, Tennessee ($7,300); Traeshon Holden, Alabama ($6,800); Jadon Haselwood, Arkansas ($6,500); Luther Burden, Missouri ($5,900); Mitchell Tinsley, Penn State ($5,700); Jerand Bradley, Texas Tech ($5,000)

College Football DFS Game Stack Options

You know which team stacks are often good, but this isn't baseball. Game stacks can and do work. Just look at Appalachian State-North Carolina last week. That game made several DFS players a few thousand bucks. Who can do that this week? Let's check it out!

Tennessee at Pittsburgh:

Both teams were involved in high-scoring affairs last week. It was kind of shocking against Pitt, who is supposed to have a really good defense. They may still be, but this Tennessee offense gets closer and closer to that big breakout every week. I wouldn't be shocked if it were here. If game-stacking, I think you need Hooker and Tillman for Tennessee and Slovis-Mumpfield-Wayne for Pitt. The reason being that Bryce Ford-Wheaton shredded Pitt last weekend. You likely only need one Tennessee receiver.

Houston at Texas Tech:

Neither defense is all that good and there are many ways to stack this one. Dell-Tune is all you need from Houston. They are the guys that are going to light this up no matter what. Tech's side gets interesting in that I don't think you need to use the quarterback in a stack. You definitely want Tahj Brooks because of his receiving prowess and Tech has a couple of cheap receivers that could go off again. You could game-stack this and still use a one-off Bryce Young.

Honorable Mention: Wake Forest at Vanderbilt
