MLB DFS Prop Picks for 9/1/22
Alek Manoah over 6.0 strikeouts- Manoah gets the prime matchup for right-handers tonight as he will be facing the Pirates, who have posted the highest K rate against righties over the previous two weeks with a rate of 26.4% while posting just a 75 wRC+ mark over that same span. Manoah has reached seven or more strikeouts in three straight starts.
Lance McCullers Jr. over 5.5 strikeouts - McCullers has only thrown 16 innings since returning from injury, but he has looked sharp posting a 1.69 ERA over his three starts. He has a solid matchup tonight against the Angels, who have posted the fourth-highest K rate against right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 25.8% while posting just a 4.8% walk rate.
Jordan Montgomery over 5.0 strikeouts - Montgomery has gone over this total in three of his previous four starts and four of his previous six starts, including a seven-strikeout performance against these Cubs just two starts ago. Over the previous two weeks, the Cubs have posted a K rate of 24.7% against lefties, which is ranked eighth-worst in the league over that span. They have also posted an abysmal 4.1% walk rate, which should keep Montgomery out of trouble.
Kyle Gibson over 4.0 strikeouts - Kyle Gibson is not someone I would normally write up for a K prop, but he has hit or eclipsed this total in four of his previous six starts and is fresh off a nine-strikeout performance against the Pirates in his most recent start. Tonight, he will be facing the Giants, who have posted the eighth-highest K rate against right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 25.8% while also struggling to score runs as noted by their 65 wRC+ mark over the same span.
