Lions Sign Nate Sudfeld Wednesday
2 years agoThe Detroit Lions signed free-agent quarterback Nate Sudfeld to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday after they waived quarterback David Blough. Sudfeld became available when the San Francisco 49ers released him on Tuesday. With Blough out of the picture in Detroit, Sudfeld will serve as Jared Goff's backup heading into the 2022 regular season. The 28-year-old signal-caller was originally a sixth-round selection in 2016 by the Washington Commanders out of the University of Indiana. He's played in just four games (zero starts) in three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, going 25-for-37 for 188 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
