3 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Davis Webb completed 30 of his 38 pass attempts for 202 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's preseason loss to the New York Jets. The former third-round pick is the No. 3 quarterback on the Giants behind Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor. Taylor exited Sunday's preseason finale with a back injury, which is why Webb played nearly three quarters. Depending on Taylor's status entering Week 1, the California product is expected to be the third-string quarterback or he could be signed to the team's practice squad. Webb has yet to throw a single pass in the regular season since being taken by the Giants in the 2017 NFL draft, so he doesn't bring any value in fantasy football.--Skyler Carlin - RotoBaller

2 years agoNew York Giants backup quarterback Davis Webb, who was offered the Buffalo Bills' quarterbacks coach job last offseason, has shown interest in starting the transition from player to coach. Webb will consider making the jump to coaching for the right opportunity after getting his first NFL start in 2022. The 28-year-old was taken in the third round of the 2017 draft out of Cal by the Giants, but he has played in only two career games in two NFL seasons with the Bills and Giants. In his only NFL start in a meaningless Week 18 game for the Giants, Webb went 23-for-40 for 168 yards and a touchdown and also carried the ball six times for 41 yards and another score. If he moves to coaching in 2023, the Giants will need to find some additional QB depth.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Davis Webb completed 23 of his 40 attempts for 168 yards and a touchdown while he also rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Webb made the start at quarterback for the Giants with New York electing to rest its starters ahead of the playoffs. Even though he didn't have much success through the air, the former third-round pick had a solid outing in relief of Daniel Jones. After making a spot start in Week 18, Webb will likely go back to being the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart in the Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings.--Skyler Carlin - RotoBaller

2 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Davis Webb has officially been named the starter for the Week 18 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The former third-round pick from 2017 will be making his first career start. In fact, Webb has not thrown a pass in the NFL yet. He'll get a chance to show what he can do, but has been put in a tough spot. The Eagles defense is above average and the Giants are resting a majority of their starters. There is no point for the Giants to use their starters with the sixth-seed already locked up. That being said, Webb is likely to struggle, so stay away from him in fantasy formats.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

2 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Davis Webb is expected to make the start against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 18. The former third-round pick from 2017 is set to throw his first pass of his NFL career. The Giants are resting their primary starters with the sixth-seed already locked up. This is a tough spot for Webb against the tough Eagles defense and without most the Giants starting offensive starters. That being said, there is no reason to start Webb in any fantasy formats this week.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
