3 years agoBoston Red Sox farm director Brian Abraham confirmed that shortstop prospect Marcelo Mayer and third base prospect Blaze Jordan have been promoted from Single-A Salem to High-A Greenville. Mayer and Jordan are the team's No. 1 and No. 6 prospects, per MLB Pipeline. Mayer was dominating at Salem, hitting .286/.406/.504 with a .910 OPS, nine home runs, 40 RBI, 46 runs scored and 16 stolen bases in 66 games, while Jordan was slashing .287/.357/.446 with an .803 OPS, eight home runs, 57 RBI, 48 runs scored and four steals in 95 games. Mayer is still only 19 years of age and was the No. 4 overall pick of last year's draft. Jordan is also 19 and has recovered after a tough first month at Salem.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
