Julio Rodriguez Could Return When Eligible
Julio Rodriguez (wrist) could return from the injured list when he's first eligible on Aug. 10. He'll begin swinging a bat this weekend during the team's series against the Los Angeles Angels. It's possible the Mariners hold Rodriguez out until Aug. 12 at the Texas Rangers since they have an off day on Aug. 11. The 21-year-old All-Star is dealing with a bruised right wrist, but he should be back soon for fantasy managers. J-Rod won't need a minor league rehab assignment before returning to the major leagues, according to manager Scott Servais. Rodriguez has been a must-start in his first year in the majors, slashing .271/.334/.482 with an .816 OPS, 18 home runs, 57 RBI, 55 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in 365 at-bats.

Julio Rodriguez Sitting On Saturday
Julio Rodriguez will get his first day off the season on Saturday afternoon when the Mariners continue a series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Rodriguez has gone just 1-for-16 over his last four contests with a 20.0 percent strikeout rate. Fantasy managers should expect the star outfielder to return to the starting nine on Sunday. Through the first 20 games of the campaign, the former top prospect has held an underwhelming .179/.304/.359 slash line with three home runs. However, a look under the hood suggests Rodriguez should see significant positive regression throughout the season. He has generated a strong .352 xwOBA with a 93.7 mph average exit velocity and a 75.3 mph bat speed, which are all well above the average marks. With Rodriguez sitting out, Luke Raley will cover center field, and Miles Mastrobuoni will enter the starting nine. The Mariners are a viable stack in DFS facing Toronto right-hander Jose Berrios.

Julio Rodriguez Posts Three-Hit Performance
Julio Rodriguez did a little bit of everything during Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Rodriguez was hitless over his last two games coming into Friday's contest, but he made up for it here. He went 3-for-6 with a home run, stolen base, and one walk in a wild 10-9 loss in 11 innings. Rodriguez took right-hander Justin Verlander deep for his second blast of the season. The 24-year-old hasn't been great at the plate this season, but remains a must-start fantasy option. Hopefully this performance will help Rodriguez get it going at the plate.

Julio Rodriguez Goes Yard On Sunday
Julio Rodriguez, blasted his first home run of the 2025 season on Sunday against left-handed pitcher JP Sears. His two-run home run proved to be enough to help the Mariners secure a 2-1 victory and split their four-game series against the Athletics to open the 2025 campaign. Rodriguez is off to a slow start to the year, going 2-for-12 with three walks, two stolen bases, and six strikeouts, so hopefully, this home run can get him some confidence going into their next series against the Detroit Tigers. Fantasy managers can continue to start Rodriguez in all formats, as the 24-year-old is looking to bounce back from a poor 2024 season, where he only hit 20 home runs compared to 28 and 32 in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Julio Rodriguez Returns From Illness On Friday
Julio Rodriguez (illness) is starting in center field and batting second in Friday's split-squad Cactus League game against the Cincinnati Reds. Rodriguez is back in spring training action after taking a couple days off this week due to an illness. After a down year by his standards in 2024, the 24-year-old outfielder is currently hitting just .229 with three home runs in 13 Cactus League games in Arizona. The two-time All-Star, former American League Rookie of the Year and two-time Silver Slugger winner had a career-low .734 OPS in 2024 but still managed 20 home runs and 24 stolen bases in 143 games played in his third year in the league. However, he posted only 68 RBI after driving in over 100 runs in 2023. A bounce-back year in 2025 is entirely possible for J-Rod, who is still a top-10 fantasy outfielder.
