New York Yankees outfielder Andrew Benintendi is starting in left field and is hitting leadoff on Thursday in his debut with the team against his former team, the Kansas City Royals, and right-hander Brady Singer. The Yanks landed Benintendi from the Royals on Wednesday night in exchange for minor league pitchers T.J. Sikkema, Beck Way and Chandler Champlain. The 28-year-old has hit .320/.387/.398, but fantasy managers would like some more power (only three home runs in 347 at-bats). The power and counting stats should improve the rest of the way in 2022 in a much stronger Yankees lineup, especially in the Bronx with the short porch in right field.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Chicago White Sox announced on Thursday that they reinstated outfielder Andrew Benintendi (groin) from the 10-day injured list and optioned outfielder Greg Jones to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Benintendi rejoins the White Sox's major-league roster while skipping a minor-league rehab assignment, but he was not included in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Athletics. The 30-year-old veteran should be back in the starting lineup in left field for Friday's series opener in Boston against the Red Sox. Benintendi got off to a strong start before his left-groin strain, going 9-for-31 (.290) with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored. Despite the good start, fantasy managers shouldn't be tricked into thinking the former first-rounder is a must-start outfielder in mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Andrew Benintendi (groin) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 7) on Wednesday and recalled outfielder Greg Jones from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. The White Sox also agreed to a minor-league deal with Travis Jankowski for additional outfield depth. The White Sox initially didn't believe Benintendi's left-groin strain was very serious, but the 30-year-old wasn't feeling as good as they thought he would, leading them to send him for more tests on Tuesday. It's a tough break for Benintendi, who had gotten off to a good start with a .290 average (9-for-31) with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored in nine games played. Michael Taylor is starting in left field for the White Sox in Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians, but Brooks Baldwin should also see playing time there with Benintendi on the shelf.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi (groin) remains on the bench for Wednesday's game against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Benintendi was pulled from Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers with left-groin tightness and hasn't played since. For now, fantasy managers should continue to consider him day-to-day. Michael Taylor will make the start in left field for Chicago and will hit seventh against Guardians left-hander Logan Allen. Benintendi will be hoping to get back in there for Thursday's series finale in Cleveland after starting the year hitting .290 (9-for-31) with two home runs and six RBI in his first nine games in 2025. Taylor will be a low-upside DFS option on Wednesday near the bottom of the order. He has three hits in his first 16 plate appearances this year and has one hit in just three career at-bats against Allen.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi (groin) is not in Tuesday's lineup for a road matchup with the Guardians. The 30-year-old exited Sunday's contest with an adductor injury and is apparently still not ready to go even after the team's off day on Monday. The former All-Star had a solid start to the season, going 9-for-31 (.290) with a pair of home runs, six RBI, and five runs scored through nine games. For now, consider him day-to-day. Brooks Baldwin will get the start in left field for Chicago and bat eighth. The 24-year-old is 7-for-25 (.280) thus far with a home run and five RBI. With temps near freezing in Cleveland and an implied run total of less than three for the Sox, Baldwin is probably an avoid in both season-long and DFS today. UPDATE: Manager Will Venable said that Benintendi doesn't feel as good as the team had thought, so he will get scans done on Tuesday afternoon.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
