2 years agoSan Diego Padres left-handed pitcher MacKenzie Gore will open the second half of the season in the bullpen. With the Padres finally getting healthy, someone needed to be dropped from the rotation, and unfortunately the easy choice was Gore. After a fantastic first two months, the young lefty has struggled mightily in June and July. He hasn't had the same command as he did at the start of the year, causing his walk rate to skyrocket and his strikeout rate to dip. Even with his strong start, he owns a lackluster 4.33 ERA and 1.46 WHIP to go along with 71 strikeouts in 68 ⅔ IP. After looking like a waiver wire steal early in the year, Gore is an easy drop at this point in redraft leagues.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
