Zack Greinke Not Likely To Be Traded
2 years agoThe Kansas City Royals are currently sitting at 36-56 and are likely to be sellers prior to this coming August's trade deadline. Veteran starting pitcher Zack Greinke, however, doesn't appear likely to be on the move. Royals general manager J.J. Picollo was interviewed on the "Cody & Gold" show on 610 Sports Radio this week. When asked about the prospects of Greinke being traded, he said, "He chose Kansas City for a reason. When a player has that many years in the league, we're respectful of that. So we would have discussions with Zack if anything were to come forward. At this point, it has been pretty quiet there." Greinke signed a one-year, $13 million deal with the Royals prior to the season. The 38-year-old has pitched to a 4.64 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP across 15 starts on the year.
