Harold Ramirez Fractures His Thumb On Sunday
2 years agoUpdating a previous report, Tampa Bay Rays first baseman/outfielder Harold Ramirez (thumb) has been diagnosed with a broken right thumb, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. He will be reevaluated by the team in two weeks. Ramirez suffered the injury in his first at-bat of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles when he was hit in his right thumb by a pitch. He remained in the game to run the bases, but was removed in the following inning. Ramirez has a fantastic .329 batting average on the year, but he hasn't provided much power as he owns a .446 slugging percentage with just four homers over 77 games.
