2 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals have activated left-hander Steven Matz (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. In a corresponding move, the team placed right-hander Drew VerHagen (hip) on the 15-day injured list with a right hip impingement. VerHagen's move to the injured list is retroactive to July 15. Matz had been out since late May with a left shoulder impingement. He'll be looking to turn his season around after he compiled an ugly 6.03 ERA and 1.39 WHIP across his first nine starts of the year.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
