He was also hit by a pitch. Alonso now has 24 home runs on the year, which has him tied for fifth in the majors. He also leads the league with 74 RBI. The 27-year-old is currently pairing a career-low ground-ball rate (35.5%) with career-highs in line-drive rate (20.7%) and average launch angle (18.8 degrees). Meanwhile, he's slugging .527, but he has a career-best xSLG of .557. Expect to see plenty more home runs from Alonso over the second half of the year.
