X-Rays Negative On Garrett Cooper
2 years agoX-rays came back negative on Miami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (knee) on Tuesday after he was forced to leave Tuesday's game early against the Pittsburgh Pirates. His injury is being called a contusion on the inside of his left knee, and he's day-to-day. Before departing, Cooper was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts to drop his season average to .296. Although it sounds like the 31-year-old All-Star avoided a serious injury, fantasy managers should expect him to start on the bench in Wednesday's game. He was named to his first All-Star team earlier in the day and entered Tuesday's game with a healthy .299/.367/.460 slash line, an .826 OPS, seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs scored in 311 plate appearances over 76 games.
