Aaron Ashby Activated Ahead Of Saturday's Start
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers have activated left-hander Aaron Ashby (forearm) from the 15-day injured list. He will be the team's starting pitcher for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. To clear a roster spot for Ashby, relief pitcher Trevor Kelley was sent to Triple-A. Ashby has made 14 appearances (eight starts) this year and he's gone 1-5 with a 4.25 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP. Despite those underwhelming numbers, he has some impressive underlying stats such as a 30.9% hard-hit rate (92nd percentile) and a 3.03 xERA. He wound up spending the minimum 15 days on the injured list due to left forearm inflammation. He's a bit of a risky start in his return Saturday, but the favorable matchup against the Pirates makes him worth considering.
