Wizards Sign Delon Wright To Two-Year Contract
2 years agoFree-agent point guard Delon Wright has agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Washington Wizards. The Wizards will be the seventh NBA franchise for the 30-year-old, who spent the 2021-22 season with the Atlanta Hawks as Trae Young's primary backup. Wright is 6-foot-5 and contributes on both ends of the court. He played under 20 minutes per game last season and he had per-36 minute averages of 8.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game. There's a chance he could be part of the Wizards starting five next year, playing alongside star shooting guard Bradley Beal. However, the Wizards also acquired fellow point guard Monte Morris in a trade with the Nuggets this past week, and he looks to be Wright's main competition for playing time at this point.
