2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook picked up his player option of $47.1 million this week. Westbrook has been at the center of trade rumors lately, specifically in regards to a blockbuster swap that would send him to Brooklyn in exchange for fellow guard Kyrie Irving. However, NBA reporter Shams Charania stated on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday that all indications he has received from the Lakers are that the team wants to see Westbrook succeed in a Lakers jersey. The 33-year-old had one of the worst seasons of his career by just about all measures last year. He averaged 18.5 points and 7.1 assists per game while shooting 44.4% from the field and 29.8% from three-point range.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
