Gleyber Torres Receives Injection In Wrist
Gleyber Torres' (ankle, wrist) ankle is doing well, but he underwent an MRI exam on his right wrist on Monday. His wrist is structurally sound, but he received a cortisone injection and is unlikely to swing a bat until Wednesday. Torres suffered a mild ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Houston Astros, and he's not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Oakland Athletics. The 25-year-old is also dealing with a bum right wrist, so there's a good chance he'll be out through at least Wednesday. Hopefully for his fantasy managers, the combination of the ankle and wrist injury won't affect his swing at the dish moving forward. Torres has been making much more hard contact in 2022 and is already up to 13 home runs.

Gleyber Torres, Dillon Dingler Sitting On Saturday
Gleyber Torres and catcher Dillon Dingler will both take a seat for Saturday's contest against the division-rival Minnesota Twins at Target Field. Torres made his return from the injured from a minor oblique strain for Friday's series opener against the Twins and went 2-for-4 with a walk in the 7-6 win. He's hit well in his first three games with the Tigers this year, going 5-for-11 with a homer, an RBI and a stolen base. Colt Keith shifts to second base and is hitting fifth, while Tomas Nido is doing the catching for rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe and is hitting ninth against Twins right-hander Chris Paddack. Spencer Torkelson is at first base and is batting third. With Jake Rogers (oblique) out at least a month, Dingler has become Detroit's primary backstop. Nido is hitless in three career at-bats against Paddack and should be avoided in DFS.

Gleyber Torres Returning From Injured List On Friday
Gleyber Torres (oblique) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday, according to the Detroit News' Chris McCosky. In a corresponding move, outfielder Brewer Hicklen was optioned back to Triple-A Toledo. Fantasy managers will want to check back for confirmation, but Torres should be back in the starting lineup at the keystone for Detroit for Friday's series opener in Minnesota against the division-rival Twins. Torres suffered a minor oblique injury on March 28 but is ready to return after a minimal absence. The Venezuelan infielder went 3-for-7 with a homer, RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in his first two games with the Tigers before getting injured. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues will want to get Torres back in their starting lineups if he's officially active on Friday. UPDATE: Torres is batting leadoff on Friday against Twins right-hander David Festa.

Gleyber Torres Might Not Need A Rehab Assignment
Gleyber Torres (oblique) is getting close to returning from the 10-day injured list, according to the Detroit News' Chris McCosky. Torres has increased his hitting regimen, and if he stays on track, he might not need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old is eligible to come off the IL this Friday, so he could be back for fantasy managers for this weekend's series on the road in Minnesota against the division-rival Twins. With Torres out, the Tigers have shifted Colt Keith to second base, opening up regular playing time at first base for Spencer Torkelson, the former No. 1 overall pick. When Torres returns, Torkelson should remain in the everyday lineup at designated hitter given his hot start (.289/.400/.553 with two homers and six RBI in 38 at-bats). Torres will be hoping to pick up where he left off after going 3-for-7 with a homer and steal in his first two games for Detroit.

Gleyber Torres Feels Great After Taking Swings
Gleyber Torres (oblique) took swings off a tee in the batting cage on Saturday morning and said he felt great, according to MLive's Evan Woodbery. There's no timeline for Torres to return from the injured list, but he said, "I'm getting close. I really feel way better." When he initially injured his oblique, Torres was hoping to avoid an IL stint. Although the 28-year-old is eligible to come off the IL on Tuesday, it's unlikely that will happen. Still, it's good news that he's feeling better, which means he could return to Detroit's starting lineup sooner than later. In his first two games with the Tigers before getting hurt, he went 3-for-7 with a solo homer, two runs scored, and a walk. Until Torres is able to return, Detroit figures to continue using Colt Keith at the keystone, opening up regular playing time for Spencer Torkelson at first base.
