Max Scherzer Might Make Rehab Start Sunday
2 years agoNew York Mets right-hander Max Scherzer (back) could possibly make an additional rehab start on Sunday. Earlier in the day the Mets stated that Scherzer would not take the mound as a starter for the Mets on Sunday with David Peterson instead expected to take the mound. Scherzer has made one previous rehab start, going 3 1/3 innings for Double-A Binghamton earlier in the week. Even though Scherzer won't be rejoining the Mets this weekend, he appears close to being reinstated from the injured list. Scherzer has made eight starts in 2022, posting a 5-1 record, 2.54 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 59 strikeouts over 49 2/3 innings of work.
